I’ve been reflecting a great deal this week about the podcast listening I do and when. In fairly frequent rotation as I walk back and forth to work are The Daily, We Can Do Hard Things, both Brene Brown podcasts, Smartless, the Moth, Mortified, Revisionist History, Longform, Modern Love, Good Ancestor Podcast…
On car trips and days I decide to finally paint rooms in my house, I lean toward serials like (not surprisingly) Serial, S-Town, Dolly Parton’s America, the Trojan Horse Affair, Nice White Parents, Dirty John, Dr. Death.
When I think about creating a podcast I am drawn to the interview/conversational approach. I like connected people, especially people I think should get to know each other. Social engineering. I think a conversational approach to what I do will work best for me. I also like a structure that provides some predictable elements such as hacks, new obsessions, whatever…
Ok, I did not know Dolly Parton had a podcast??? I am fixing that gap in my knowledge immediately.
