For assignment 2b I used the same audio clip.
After finally taking out the word ‘other’ and ‘um’:
- I replaced the initial opening piano scale with a violin clip playing an ascending scale (from the commons.wikimedia link Brenna provided), and shifted the rest of the audio accordingly (what would we do without all the ‘how-to’ instructions available on the internet).
- I added delay and reverb to the word ‘arpeggio’, I changed the solid triads to a wahwah sound (unintentionally very 80’s Christmas), and added reverb to the ‘alternate pattern’ (only a slight difference in sound).
- As I wasn’t having immediate success with the equalizer and noise reduction function, I turned to the amplifier feature again to lower the volume on some clicks. I adjusted the volume of the piano in the background to be slightly higher.
Maybe not an overall musical ear pleaser, but making further edits to the audio was fun. Those who make podcasts likely have time constraints and deadlines. If not, I’m sure one could take forever making last minute edits here and there, because there can always be improvements to make things sound better.
Ha, yes there are two very dangerous time sucks when editing podcasts; picking music and getting deeper and deeper into editing..
Oh man, I spent so much time trying to find the best music. So many choices that when I double checked weren’t actually available for the license I wanted.
